ACTIONAID GHANA HOSTS ONE AFRICA COUNTRY DIRECTORS MEETING IN ACCRA
ActionAid Ghana kickstarts the One Africa Face-to-Face Country Director's (CDs) Meeting in Accra.
The meeting forms part of the AA Federation's collaborative mandate to work together for a just, green, and equitable country for all citizens in Africa. It seeks to strengthen the relationships and alliance of the African Country Directors of ActionAid to strategically deliberate on issues affecting the continent while forging ahead with lasting solutions to achieve social justice and protection for the vulnerable in society.
Hosting a total of thirty-five (32) member-state Country Directors, the meeting will, among other things, prioritise connecting with partners and individuals of ActionAid Ghana's projects, which focus on quality education, women's rights, and agroecology in the various programmes and regional offices.
The five-day meeting will also give the Country Directors a platform to exchange best practices and ideas for project and programme implementations. It will also help directors, among other things, reinforce their committees to upgrade fundraising and resource mobilisation efforts while addressing strategies for rooted campaigns around climate and economic justice.
John Nkaw, Country Director, reiterates that ‘this important occasion allows us to collaborate, reflect, and share insights and advance our missions of promoting social justice and sustainable development".
The One Africa Meeting is an event that has been rotated over the past decades, and this year's promises to be very insightful and engaging. The meeting for the Country Directors of Sub-Continental Africa spans from May 27 to May 31, 2024.
