ActionAid Ghana and Partners, FORWARDUK and Tuweseche Global host 23 Ladies for 2026 TuWezeshe Akina Dada Fellowship

This year, ActionAid Ghana is once again creating intentional space for young, bold, and visionary women to rise as leaders and changemakers.

Building on the strong outcomes of the 2025 cohort, ActionAid Ghana working in strategic partnership with FORWARD UK and TuWezeshe Global is rolling out a new cycle of the TuWezeshe Akina Dada Female Leadership Programme.

As a social justice organisation, ActionAid Ghana is anchoring the programme in grassroots feminist organising, ensuring that young women in the Northern Region are equipped, supported, and resourced to challenge inequality and drive community-led change. The partnership brings together global feminist expertise, local knowledge, and shared accountability to advance women’s leadership where it matters most.

The programme integrates leadership development, mentorship, self-care, and feminist consciousness with community-driven social action projects designed and implemented by the fellows themselves, ensuring ownership, relevance, and sustainable impact.

Following the success of the first cohort, which trained 21 young women, the 2026 cohort welcomes 23 new fellows, strengthening a growing movement of young women leaders across the Northern Region.
Beyond training, fellows receive continuous mentorship, psychosocial support, and seed funding to transform ideas into action and advocacy into measurable change.

Through TuWezeshe Akina Dada, ActionAid Ghana and its partners are collectively nurturing a new generation of feminist leaders committed to justice, equality, and inclusive transformation in their communities.
