United Nations Resident Coordinator (RC) Pays Courtesy Call on ActionAid Ghana.
On Monday, January 19, ActionAid Ghana (AAG) had the honour of receiving Mr Zia Choudhury, the United Nations Resident Coordinator (RC) in Ghana, at the AAG Head Office for a high-level courtesy and working engagement.
Mr Choudhury was warmly received by the ActionAid Ghana leadership team, led by the Country Director, Mr John Nkaw. The engagement created a strategic platform for in-depth dialogue on strengthening collaboration between the UN system, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), enhancing shared learning, and advancing coordinated, rights-based approaches to sustainable development in Ghana.
This pioneering visit underscores a shared commitment to people-centred development, inclusive partnerships, and collective impact. AAG and the UN office are committed to further exploring and building partnerships that address women's rights, including witchcraft accusations and molestation, utilisation of the Domestic Violence(DV) Fund and support the implementation of the Affirmative Action Law. This is to be achieved through shared learning and advocacy platforms, such as the Northern Ghana CSOs Platform, ING Forum, Young People's Movement, and related community-based organisations, as well as working closely with various media networks.
ActionAid Ghana is deeply encouraged by the renewed commitment to deepen cooperation and co-create transformative solutions that truly leave no one behind.
