Child sponsorship in our premier development areas in Bawku West and Chereponi in the northern part of Ghana enabled suppor ter s who share in ActionAids' vision and mission to sponsor, or fund children in these developing areas. The supporters financially supported education, health, many livelihood projects (including agriculture) and security of the sponsored children. More importantly these supporters have contributed more widely to the children's communities development. These “children” are now self sufficient young adults living lives of dignity. As we celebrate 20 years of work in Ghana in 2010, we deemed it appropriate to get back to our pioneer communities, locate the pioneer sponsored children and give them the opportunity to give us their reflections on ActionAid's work in their communities.
