Witchcraft accusations and other human rights violations occur daily in many communities in Ghana. Usually victims of these allegations are given harsh and inhumane treatment, which include physical assault, banishment, social ridicule, isolation, lunching and death. Victims of witchcraft accusations are poor and vulnerable old women who lack the necessary social security and legal awareness to demand and insist on their right to liberty and dignity.
This is a report on the, “National Conference on Witchcraft Accusations in Ghana” held on Wednesday, 10th December, 2014 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
